Re: Ask an Acoustic Engineer (me)
The steering wheel controls possibly operate through the CAN Bus. Not sure what colors, could be a twisted violet/orange and gray/orange. You’ll need something like an AXSWC to interface your new stereo. As far as the OE mic, you might be able to tap into the wires at the mic, but it may lack the sensitivity to be used with your stereo.

I’ve looked high and low for a pin diagram that made sense and haven’t found one. That’s why after hours of searching I then searched for car audio ask an expert pages. I hoped that you or someone here has wired a 2011-2016 Ford Truck aftermarket stereo and could provide some insight.

Thanks for the reply, I will have to locate this CAN bus and purchase the controller interface. I’ll let you know if it works!

I just looked on alldata and they have 1 month subscription for $19.99. They will have what you need if you find the proper diagram for what OE equipment you have.
Mic looks like it is a yellow green wire for mic+ and black for shield going into APIM.
The steering wheel stuff is more complicated and you'd have to look at it and figure it out. But on alldata it is 130-020 and 130-021 Audio System/Navigation diagrams. Or if you go to the electrical - interactive Color (Non OE) diagram, it is easier to trace all of that stuff.

Have you tried going here https://axxessinterfaces.com/ here http://metraonline.com/ or here https://pac-audio.com/ and inputting your vehicle info to see what kind of interfaces are available?
