Tryna replace some old mobile home ceiling speakers
right now I have (4) 5.75" 8ohm 60w speakers in the ceiling. That has been impossible to match. The radio is an in-wall old Falcon brand casette/fm/am reciever. The speaker wires are very small and they run approximately 20 feet through the ceiling so I dont want to get any speakers thats gonna get hot. I can't find 6 ohm either. Any suggestions?

The last 6 Ohm ceiling speakers I have seen were Yamaha 8". You may have to go to an 8 Ohm speaker.

Hello Smitty. I cant find any 8ohm either. I will keep looking and will eventually find something, surely. What is your take on the wattage? Does it need to stay around 60w?

Re: Tryna replace some old mobile home ceiling speakers
I doubt very seriously that radio is putting out 60W RMS, more like 15W. Dont worry about wattage. For that application, I would just look for 6" - 6.5" speakers that are 8 ohm and have a high efficiency rating. Plan on making the holes a little larger. Higher efficiency should make up for going from a 6 ohm to 8 ohm speaker.

The 60w is probably the peak rating

Re: Tryna replace some old mobile home ceiling speakers
I've tried looking at marine speakers and regular coaxial speakers and I can't find shit in high efficiency. I can't find the "minimal wattage required" rating on any of these. Im needing 6" or 6.5" 8 ohm speakers to replace for a mobile home ceiling. I need something that's just gonna give me some good sound for cheap. Not looking for anything fancy. Woofers etc, VMI Innovations and Sonic has nothing. Can someone kindly give me a little direction

Also, I'm wanting replace this in wall reciever but as you can see, the romex wires from the wall powers it and the only recievers I can find has a plug on it. Do I just cut the plug off of a new one and use its wires to connect to the romex wires
